- Ted
reported that the Share the Road sign project is nearing completion. The Siskiyou County Road Department has
installed 14 ‘Share the Road’ signs in strategic places on thoroughfares
frequented by cyclists. Funding
for the project was provided by Mt Shasta Pedali Cycling Club and The
Summit Century organization, Mountain
Wheelers. The leaders of
this project were our club president, Ted and our make it happen member
Mario Marchi. Pete Eddy will write
a news release and will email it to Mario for publication in Northern California
publications
- The
two club rides that took place this spring were attended by about 10
cyclists on each ride. Ted was the
organizer of the rides and he hopes others will take his lead and continue
to organize weekend rides. The process to organize is very simple and Ted
volunteered to help anyone interested to set up another ride.
- Tuesday
evening ride attendance has been spotty due at least in part to the wet
spring weather we had this year.
- Mario
Marchi volunteered to once again spearhead the Pedali Hill Climb ride to
be held on the Saturday before the Summit Century, August 1, 2009. The board unanimously approved
sponsoring the event.
